You Are Ready to Move Forward… And Here is What to Expect

  1. What are your next steps?  Contact us at (707)395-7550 to speak with our office manager to find out more information or to schedule services, or email us at [email protected] to request more information or to setup an initial assessment.
  2. Set up an initial assessment.  After better understanding your needs during this phone consultation or email, we can set up an initial assessment.
  3. What you need prior to your first appointment:
    • You will be sent electronic forms to complete online, including consent forms and screening measures to help us understand more about how we can help.  Please complete these prior to your first appointment.
    • If there is a custody arrangement or if you are a legal guardian of a minor, please upload or bring copies of these documents.
    • Please complete the credit card authorization form, as we keep a credit card on file for ease of charging without disruption of the session.  Payment is due at the time of each session- we cannot receive payment in advance, nor can we open a tab for services.  We accept cash, checks, and payment cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, FSA/HSA cards).
    • If insurance will be billed, please ensure that an image of the front and back of your insurance card is uploaded onto the client portal.
  4. What should you expect for your first visit?
In the initial visits we will complete an assessment, which is a series of questions to help us find the best way to help you or your family.  The first visit will take approximately one hour to complete.  For children and families, we set up three consecutive assessment appointments to ensure we are able to adequately understand your family’s needs.  To be thoughtful and thorough to ensure we have an accurate understanding of why you are seeking services and important information, we initially meet with the parent/guardian to gather information, then meet with the child/children, followed by a third and final appointment to review the assessment, provide recommendations, and complete a treatment plan if services would be helpful and are agreed upon by everyone.  For couples, we typically meet together for the initial appointment, followed by meeting each person individually, and then proceeding together for ongoing services.
  5. How long is each visit after the initial assessment?
Sessions typically last 50 minutes, unless otherwise arranged.  Sessions are held approximately once per week.
